Weekly Collective Tarot Reading
Six of Pentacles · Six of Wands · Ace of Pentacles
Sometimes we become so used to giving, helping and working for everything that we forget how to simply receive something good.
This week’s cards are the Six of Pentacles, Six of Wands and Ace of Pentacles. And the first thing I noticed was the two sixes, followed by a new beginning.
There’s something interesting about this combination because all three cards have something to do with receiving. Support, recognition, opportunities or simply seeing something come back to you after everything you’ve put into it.
And it made me think about something. Why is it sometimes easier to give something than to receive it?
We can spend so much time working towards something, helping others or trying to prove ourselves. But when something good finally comes our way, we don't always know what to do with it. Maybe we downplay it, question whether we deserve it or immediately start thinking about what we need to do next.
I think the Six of Pentacles is particularly interesting because giving is often something we associate with being a good person. We want to help, be generous and show up for the people we care about. And there's nothing wrong with that.
But I wonder how often we actually think about the other side of it.
Are we just as comfortable asking for help as we are offering it? Can we accept something without feeling like we immediately owe something in return?
Sometimes we become so used to being the person who gives that receiving starts to feel almost uncomfortable. And maybe that’s worth paying attention to.
Then we have the Six of Wands, a card often associated with success, recognition and achievement. But I don’t think this card is only about other people noticing what you’ve accomplished. I think it’s also about whether you can recognize it yourself.
Because how often do we reach something we once wanted and almost immediately move on to the next thing?
We finish something, but instead of feeling proud, we notice everything that could have been better. We achieve a goal, but somehow it doesn't feel like enough. Or someone compliments us, and our first instinct is to explain why it wasn't actually that impressive.
I’ve definitely caught myself doing that. And it makes me wonder how much of our own progress we overlook simply because we're already thinking about what comes next.
What if you allowed yourself to be happy with what you've already done?
Not forever, and not because there's nothing left to improve. Just long enough to actually recognize it.
And then comes the Ace of Pentacles. A new opportunity. Something practical. Something that has the potential to grow into something meaningful.
I like this card at the end of the reading because it almost feels like a continuation of the first two.
The Six of Pentacles asks whether we're open to receiving support. The Six of Wands asks whether we're able to recognize our own success. And the Ace of Pentacles makes me wonder what happens when something new is offered to us.
Do we accept it? Or do we immediately start questioning whether we're ready, qualified or deserving enough?
Of course, not every opportunity is right for us. And accepting something doesn't mean we shouldn't think about it. But maybe sometimes the difficulty isn't that the opportunity is wrong. Maybe we're simply not used to something good arriving without feeling like we need to prove ourselves first.
I think this is what connects these three cards for me. Sometimes we work so hard for something that even when it finally arrives, we struggle to let ourselves have it.
We feel like we should do more, be better, give something back or prove that we deserve it. And I think there's an interesting question underneath all of that.
At what point do we allow ourselves to believe that what we've already done is enough?
Maybe you don't need to immediately turn every achievement into another goal. Maybe accepting help doesn't make you less independent. And maybe receiving something good doesn't always have to come with a feeling that you now owe the world something in return.
✨ Sometimes you can simply appreciate what's being offered.
If something good has happened in your life recently, or if you've been working towards something for a long time, maybe ask yourself:
Am I as comfortable receiving as I am giving?
And perhaps more importantly:
When something good comes my way, do I allow myself to enjoy it, or do I immediately start thinking about what I need to do to deserve it?
Maybe this week's cards aren't asking us to work harder or give more. Maybe they're simply asking whether we're willing to receive a little more of what life has to offer, and actually let ourselves enjoy it. ✨
